It is interesting that he's got a few detractors here yet he's singled out by an independent committee as being exceptional. I don't think you can be anything but above average at the very least to win AD of the year.

Haters gonna hate

Being AD at Liberty is a lot like being the President of the United States. Anything good that's done its because of something/someone else (former President's, Congress, etc) and anything bad that's done it is a direct result of their incompetence. I think that's simply the nature of the beast though.

Here are the facts, Liberty University athletics is having one of the best runs in our entire history and one of the better runs in BSC history....and this is taking place under Jeff Barber so he deserves a tremendous amount of credit. For comparison sake, I wont say he's MJ but I will say he's Scottie Pippen, and without him there would be no MJ. He cant win by himself and he needs MJ (MJ being administration, budget, etc) but Scottie can lose it by himself in a heartbeat and this just hasnt happened under JB.

He's the presence that was needed at the time he came in, and kuddos to Admin for allowing a complete culture shift to take place.

I dunno. The haters might take solace that awards like this are usually 'the kiss of death'. How many Coach Of The Year's get axed a year or two later.
This truly could be the beginning of the end for JB and his evil schemes!
