Moving Up and Other Sports

Every time I read something about moving up and changing conferences, it's all about football. How would the other sports be impacted by a conference change to, say, the Sun Belt (since that's the most talked about right now)? Women's basketball would probably compete, but what about baseball?

We would be competitive in most sports from the outset. And baseball in particular is well prepared for a transition to any of the prospective leagues.

Quiz Bowl, the varsity sport of the mind, is READY.

The Sunbelt isn't that big of a step up in most sports. In some sports, the BSC may be better. All of our sports would be just fine.

we'll be competitive or even dominate in a lot of sports. the one i see this hurting the most is soccer. The sunbelt doesn't sponser mens soccer so they would hav to be an associate member somewhere. hopefully CUSA or MAC.

First order of business for the new Sun Belt Commish.

I'm just looking through it now. Sun Belt does have women's soccer, but no men's.
FIU has a men's team. They play in the CUSA
FAU has one too. They're in the MAC
Denver (non football) plays in the Moutain Pacific Sports Federation. Apparently that's a D1 conference.
Everybody else has no program except for clubs. That's like not having a baseball team.

Men's soccer is a dying sport outside of the East Coast and Midwest with a few exceptions. HBU just added the sport to become only 2nd DI program in State of Texas. I doubt they keep it long. Title IX makes it difficult because has so many players on team.

And no one cares about Jeremy Lin outside of the United States and China , with a few exceptions.

As MLS moves to a more international setup, teams will keep improving their academy structures and the men's game will fade away as a source of meaningful soccer talent in the US.

Our track program has been ready for the past 15 years. Anyone see what Tolsma did this past weekend? 49th Coach of the Year award. Need some new competition.
What about some of the other sports?

Oh come on there's like 200 track seasons in a year and men's and women's
Kidding, he actually suffers from what Coach Green faced a few years ago (and I think still does honestly)....he's just been to good and it hasnt even been close. Now it's expected and when you DONT win it people think "what in the world happened???" He's a legend, I'm not sure people realize how hard it is to be the best in something, at any level and in any league. There's to much parody out there to do what he's done, Coach Green and Pinder could be thrown into that mix with another good season.
Its just not normal to dominate like this...I feel this way even about those in the BSC. Obviously the examples pale in comparison to the UCONN's WBB or Duke's home court but still impressive none the less.

I did read...and noticed that you used a word that you weren't meaning to...
Parody (the word you used):
1.
a humorous or satirical imitation of a serious piece of literature or writing: his hilarious parody of Hamlet's soliloquy.
2.
the genre of literary composition represented by such imitations.
3.
a burlesque imitation of a musical composition.
4.
any humorous, satirical, or burlesque imitation, as of a person, event, etc.
5.
the use in the 16th century of borrowed material in a musical setting of the Mass (parody Mass).
Parity (the word In guessing you meant to use):1.
equality, as in amount, status, or character.
2.
equivalence; correspondence; similarity; analogy.
3.
Finance .
a.
equivalence in value in the currency of another country.
b.
equivalence in value at a fixed ratio between moneys of different metals.
4.
Physics .
a.
a property of a wave function, expressed as +1 or −1 and noting the relation of the given function to the function formed when each variable is replaced by its negative, +1 indicating that the functions are identical and −1 that the second function is the negative of the first.
b.
Also called intrinsic parity. a number +1 or −1 assigned to each kind of elementary particle in such a way that the product of the parities of the particles in a system of particles multiplied by the parity of the wave function describing the system is unchanged when particles are created or annihilated.
5.
a system of regulating prices of farm commodities, usually by government price supports, to provide farmers with the same purchasing power they had in a selected base period.
Hence the wording of my comment

I'm sorry Beej, I underestimated how much one could read with 10 years in a dorm.

However, deep down I know I deserve this for all of the great laughs I had over the years with the Presby Football Job. I will take this like a man
PS I didnt use "you're" instead of "your" Looks like the 30 and under policy might need to be examined...you need a little more time
