Women's Tennis and New York City

Hi Everyone!
Several of the women's tennis team travelled to New York on Thursday to participate in the USTA Billie Jean Invitational which will begin Saturday morning.
The team arrived late afternoon and went straight to the courts for a hit. When they returned to their van they quickly realized that it had been broken into...
The thieves got away with their laptops, cameras, ipods, and other valuables.
They were so upset, what a way to begin this exciting weekend.
The police have filed a detailed report... I was able to provide the serial number for my daughter's laptop and camera but chances of finding these are not to likely.
The ladies have taken time to go by pawn shops just hoping to spot at least one of the stolen items. No luck.
My daughter is currently taking 2 on-line classes and had her work for these classes saved on her laptop... not sure what is going to happen but I feel sure all will turn out fine! I am just SO thankful that the team was away from the van and that they were not hurt in any way!!!
They have now shifted their focus to their upcoming tournament, play should begin at 8 am.
I hope they compete strong and I know they will represent Liberty well.

Ugh. Welcome to NYC. You would have thought the tennis center could have provided somebody in the lot.

Hi Sly and PAmedic!
Thanks for your reply. A lot attendant would have been wonderful. The van was parked in a great spot for safety and to prevent theft... these guys must have known their target and were quick about their work. :(
We did find out from the NYPD that this particular van is easy to break into, they see it all the time.
Also, all the items that were taken were out of site or covered up... nothing could be seen by looking in.
On a tournament note:
Cam and Brittany are out of doubles... Carol and Bekah are in the doubles back draw.
Carol is still in the main draw for singles, all the others are in the back draw.
Have a great Sunday!
