LU men's soccer player Aseweh honored

Liberty University midfielder Phillip Aseweh was named the Disney Soccer/NSCAA national player of the week on Wednesday.

Aseweh scored three goals and an assist last week as Liberty defeated No. 10 Virginia 2-0, and beat Howard 4-0. He had not scored this season before those two matches.

He scored once at Virginia to give the Flames a two-goal lead against the Cavaliers and he followed that performance up with five points in the win over Howard.

Aseweh will be recognized at halftime of the NSCAA college game of the week on Fox Soccer Channel. Broadcasts are at 7 p.m. tonight and at the same time on Saturday.

That's awesome! Congrats to Phillip!

This is a huge honor in the college soccer world. Phillip's award really is a testament to what the team accomplished during the week.
