A Sea Of Red

Lady Flames take on the Georgia Bulldogs of the SEC tonight at 7:00PM in Athens. Georgia was recently coached by former Winthrop coach Joel McCartney.

Bulldogs took the first two games, 25-21, 25-21.

We got swept but hung tough all 3 games. Lost the third game 25-20 I think. Georgia seemed to have more down the stretch each game after playing even with them throughout. Some of our newcomers like Shippe and Gebben played fairly well as did Thomas, Claycraft, and Happell

We were swept again by Kansas but rebounded to sweep Florida A&M.

It looks as if we held our own at the Georgia Tourny. Beat a tough Fla A&M teams but didn't have enough to beat Kansas or Georgia. A win over Georgia or Kansas would have been nice but not in the cards. There are plenty of opportunities to knock off some good competition. It looks like we are fairly young this year.

good start to the season. GA games were close. I think that bodes well for us.
