Tennis yesterday evening was SO exciting!!!
The ladies closed their match against Radford rather quickly.
They claimed the doubles point and then in singles played hard to secure the match!
The order of finish was:
1. Rebekah Jenkins
2. Carol Lobel
3. Jordan Jenkins
The ladies will meet up with #2 seed Coastal Carolina today at noon.
The men's match against #3 seed Coastal Carolina was SOOOO exciting!!!
They took the doubles point and then went on to play some amazing, high-quality tennis!
The Liberty crowd was obviously excited and we were loud... the players, so pumped, as they worked to claim the 3 singles needed to secure the match!
It was such a GREAT night of tennis!!! Order of finish to secure the match:
!. Ben Wirth
2. Shea Thomas
3. Siim Tuus
When Siim hit the winning match shot the crowd went crazy, the men too!!!
We were ALL so excited and proud of the guys... it was a huge upset and our Liberty men were ready for the challenge!
They will play #2 seed Radford, today at 1 p.m.

Well a quick update:
There was a significant rain delay today and the ladies play did not begin until about an hour ago (4 p.m.). Cam just texted and Liberty lost the doubles point. So, we have to fight hard to win the 4 singles matches needed to secure the match!
The men will play after the ladies.
All the action has been moved to the 6 indoor courts.
On another note, should Liberty have the privilege of hosting the conference championship tournament I think our setting would be ideal. With our 12 indoor courts and 12 outdoor courts rain would never be an issue.
Because of the rain I had to leave Rock Hill and head back to B'ham
to greet out-of-towners for the weekend.
I really hate missing the flames in action.
Happy Easter!!!
As I hear, I will keep everyone posted.

There is no question that both tennis teams are heading in the right direction.
But I admit that I wish Jordan could stick around a few more years.

Yep, they are. And even though the Jordan Jenkins era has come to an end, moving forward we'll be ok. Not saying that you can replace a JJ, a Hannah Fick, or Jonita Randolph, but I know Coach Johnson has a great ability to reload and continue to add depth.
