Liberty won big in preliminary round yesterday at Lakeland, Fla., and will begin elimination round today at 11 a.m. against Rutgers. The winner will face Maryland at 4 p.m. in the quarterfinals. This event is being televised live by Fox College Sports and is available online at http://www.b2livetv.com/partner_members.asp?id=385 and I believe can also be accessed on Hulu. My No. 2 son is a rookie on the Flames' Class AA team and they play today as well.

Just curious, do they have a faculty member who serves as a sponsor or coach?

Todd Hoglund is the coach. I don't think he is an LU employee. He is an LU grad. I believe he is a counselor, maybe with Central Virginia Community Services? My son just began playing at the start of this semester so I'm not overly familiar with the program. I'm still trying to figure out the rules.

My friend (and also an LU alum) Jason Kohout works with this team as well. He was always talking paintball when I would visit

Liberty wins 6-3 over Maryland in quarterfinals, advances to Final Four tomorrow. Not certain about semifinal opponent, but I think maybe Penn State-Long Beach State winner.

pretty sure one if not both of these teams have been national champs in the past so it wouldnt shock me to see them bring home the gold.

Flames lose by two points to Tennessee in the semifinals. Apparently, penalties did us in. Tennessee will face Long Beach in the championship game.
