The Lady Flames played UNC Asheville today and won 6-1!!
Cameron lost her match today... I haven't spoken with her yet but she did text me and tell me she was the only one that didn't win.

The Big South Conference has seeded the teams and Liberty has come in as the #3 seed behind #1 Winthrop and #2 Coastal Carolina.
Ideally, the best seed would have been #2, allowing us to, potentially, face Winthrop in the finals. Winthrop has a strong team but you all know that I am pulling for our ladies.
Winthrop was our first conference match and we have grown as a team and become stronger since that match-up in late February.

The Big South Conference has posted the championship schedule below:

Thursday, April 21 – Rock Hill, S.C.
Match 1: No. 4 Charleston Southern vs. No. 5 Gardner-Webb, 9:00am ET
Match 2: No. 3 Liberty vs. No. 6 Radford, 12:00pm ET
Match 3: No. 2 Coastal Carolina vs. No. 7 UNC Asheville, 3:00pm ET

Friday, April 22 (semifinals) – Rock Hill, S.C.
Match 4: No. 1 Winthrop vs. Match 2 winner, 9:00am ET
Match 5: Match 3 winner vs. Match 4 winner, 12:00pm ET

Saturday, April 23 (Finals) – Rock Hill, S.C.
Match 6: Match 5 winner vs. Match 3 winner, 9:00am ET

I don't think that schedule can be right. They don't have the match 1 winner playing anyone. Seems the match 1 winner should be playing Winthrop and then match 2 winner vs match 3 winner, according to the seeds anyway. (I know this wasn't your fault tennisfan, that's the way it is listed on the BSC website.)

I know it doesn't seem right but, the #1 seed, Winthrop is awarded a bye... that means their first match will be Friday morning against either Radford or Liberty. I hope it will be Liberty!
Wouldn't it be AMAZING if the Lady Flames could win the conference?!?

Well, one more post... I see what you mean... I don't see where the winner of No. 4 Charleston Southern vs. No. 5 Gardner-Webb will play next?

Our Flames Site had the correct schedule with Winthrop playing the winner of Charleston vs. Gardner-Webb. LIberty (if we beat Radford) will meet up with the winner of Coastal or UNC Asheville.

Congrats to Coach Johnson and the Lady Flames on the Big South regular season championship (ok, co-champions, still a first in program history).

Looking forward to seeing them in action at the tournament.

Why are we not the 2 seed? I thought we beat Coastal but yet they still got the 2 seed over us. I am confused can someone please explain this to me?

My guess is b/c there was a 3-way tie for first, they did it by the score against the number 4 seed Charleston Southern at the tie-breaker. Winthrop beat CSU 7-0, Coastal 5-2 and us 4-3, That's just my guess, I have no idea how they did it.
