Liberty to Debut GameTracker Live Stats Wednesday
August 31, 2010

In conjunction with the new look of LibertyFlames.com, the appearance of Liberty's live stats links will also receive a total overhaul this year, beginning with Wednesday's men's soccer home opener versus Bluefield. For the first time, Liberty will utilize the CBS Sports GameTracker interface for all home football, men's and women's soccer, volleyball, men's and women's basketball, baseball, softball and lacrosse events in 2010-11.

Nice graphical upgrade, terrible usability upgrade. CBS Sports game tracker is notoriously slow, often lagging behind by minutes...

Have you ever used had to endure our old software for updates, Shuk? This is a big step forward for us.

Yes I have endured the StatCrew live stats (what Lu used to use) in several capacities, both at LU and not LU. I've viewed the live stats for LU basketball games, for LC games, and for games at 20-30 other schools at a minimum. LU was the only place I saw where there were issues with it updating. I've used the StatCrew live stats myself at several different schools and venues, including Ferrum, Lynchburg, Hampden-Sydney, Roanoke, Salem Civic Center, Randolph, some high school up in Northern VA. Only times I have had problems with the statcrew livestats not updating is when there have been hardware or internet issues.
So basically, I don't believe it is a software issue at all unless it's just not set up correctly. Statcrew live stats is as reliable and fast updating as it comes if set up properly, it's just not as nice and flashy looking as other livestats software.

It is too bad there must be hardware & internet issues at the majority of the Big South.

you either weren't paying attention or are lying about the 20-30 schools that use that format. No matter what school has used it, it has always been terrible. LU was far from the only school that has had issues with them.

No, trust me, you will find a lot of schools who use the statcrew live stats, it would be very easy for me to find 30+ schools that use it. Don't challenge me because you know I will take the time to prove you wrong...
"No matter what schools has used it, it has always been terrible" Terrible in what ways, the interface, the updating, or both? Hasn't been terrible updating every where I've used it and I know other SIDs who use it with no problems.

both..it lags terribly compared to other live stats I have seen used. I use to think it was an LU problem, then I realized it was the program they used because every other school I have seen use it has had the same problems

THat's becase CBS sports doesn't have a mobile version of their live stats software, and it uses flash, so everyone on an iPhone or iPod touch is basically screwed.
