This will mark the second overhaul to the athletics web site since its debut in 2004. The enhanced image will feature easier access to feature stories, a strong emphasis on audio and video content, plus prominent social media elements.

The new design is slated to “go live” around midday, with additional features to debut throughout the remainder of the month. The year-long project has been a collaborative effort between Liberty’s Athletics Communications and University Advancement departments.

just announced: due to bad weather while programming the new site, the rollout of the new libertyflames.com has been pushed back to Sept.1

in the interim, please go to citystadium.com to check out the latest on LU sports

not as many people can log on at one time, but it will be worth it in the end.

Actually the chancellor made a last minute change. He wanted the website to be red, since students wear red. Also, we now have the biggest red collegiate website in the state of Virginia. This will generate major streams of revenue.

There is also a new "upscale student store center" which allows students to buy average gear for twice its value.

The site looks good.

Does anyone know the contact email for the website admin to report errors or make suggestions?

good work. really seems to have adopted a lot of the things that are typical in the more cutting edge athletics websites i see these days that a lot fo collges end up having to pay a third party company to make for them. LU lucky to have the resources so they don't have to fork out the cash externally!

I really like how they got the facebook news feed thing on there, I don't remember having seen something like that before.

I'm sure SJ is very disappointed about the departure of the flaming logo animation.

What I've seen thus far looks great. Congrats to everyone involved in taking it up a level.

Is anybody else getting three empty boxes on the right hand side underneath the schedule? Or is that just me?

I love the new layout. The sport icons are sweet too.

I could go with a different color scheme, but I'm very happy with this setup

Oh yeah, I didn't want this to slip by without a nomination for post of the week. I can't believe I am saying this but we actually miss your witty banter around here. This warrants a tastykake or whatever it is you guys think is awesome these days.

Nick Pierce has been working on getting that done for about six months and just hasn't been able to do it when he was doing everything on his own.

thank you. a Chocolate Tandy Kake will do just fine

PS: I cant locate Alan's podcast- the address seems wrong. Then again, even if I could, I wouldn't know how to play it. or whatever one does with a pod.

OK, I know this is probably elitist or nit-picky or whatever, but .... the University is hosting their podcast on PODOMATIC???!!!!

Podomatic is a free site, sort of like the Blogger of podcasting -- and I say this having used Podomatic for the last few months of my podcast's life. A Podomatic address says a lot about the professionalism of a podcast -- and none of it good (whether true or not, there is a perception. My DAUGHTER had a Podomatic podcast when she was FOUR, for crying out loud!!). At the very least, spend the ten bucks to have a domain that points to the Podomatic site -- that's what I was working on before I faded (one of these days, I'm going to record again ...).
