I am SO impressed with Liberty University!
Congrats to all of these fine athletes!!! :cheerleader

One question though... who is Ana Carolina Castro (Women's Tennis)? Also, Mandeep Yadav (men's tennis) I just don't recognize these players??

Liberty Website Article Below!
I have highlighted the tennis players because... I'm a "tennisfan" :D

199 Liberty Athletes Make BSC Honor Roll

Liberty placed 199 student-athletes on the 2009-10 Big South Presidential Honor Roll, as announced earlier this week by Big South Conference Commissioner Kyle B. Kallander.

To be named to the Presidential Honor Roll, student-athletes must have maintained a grade point average of 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale) or higher for the recently completed academic year.

With 199 honorees, Liberty had the most student-athletes of any conference institution earning a mention on the Big South Presidential Honor Roll. Over 47 percent of LU’s total student-athletes were named to the roll, capping off another stellar year academically for Liberty student-athletes.

Three individuals were voted Big South Scholar Athlete of the Year for their respective sports in 2009-10, including Rebekah Ricksecker, who was named the scholar athlete of the year for both women’s indoor and outdoor track and field. Liberty tennis players Jordan Jenkins and Louis Steyn were also named their sport’s scholar athlete.

Nationally, a Liberty student-athlete Chris Rocco was named to the 2009 ESPN The Magazine Academic All-America Football first team. Rocco was the 16th Liberty student-athlete selected to a CoSIDA Academic All-American team.

In addition, the Liberty men’s soccer team was honored by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) with the association’s team academic award for the 2008-09 academic year. The award recognizes programs with a team grade-point average of 3.0 or higher. The Flames, who posted a 3.17 team GPA, were one of 141 men’s soccer teams recognized by the NSCAA.

Five.................... count'em 5 men's basketball players on that list. When was the last time we could say that? I realize there are other sports with even more, but those programs have a history of good academics. Not so with MBB.

To answer tennisfan's question, Ana is really Carol Lobel. Has a really expansive first name but prefers to be listed as Carol Lobel. Mandeep Yadev is a men's player from India, didn't see action this past spring.
