I am surprised that no one on here posted about our first Lacrosse game at the division 1 level but we are getting smoked 13-1 to Longwood and we are only in the first period of play. Not sure I want to see the final score of this fiasco. Ugh!!!

We lost 21-3...To be completely frank I am not expecting a whole lot from these gals this first season. Its gonna be a long row to hoe from first game to last and I hope that this is a real learning experience for everyone at the difference between club level and NCAA level

She may have...I know they had a few girls sign but a lot of the roster came from open tryouts that I can tell. I know that these girls are going to go through growing pains. Every sport did...

I wondered if seeing an Honors student carrying a lacrosse stick might be a bad sign. Study

I don't remember the wrestling team doing this badly in their first year. Maybe wrestling is fully scholorshiped

The lacrosse team is non-scholarship right now. Those will be added incrementally in the future but this year is a non-scholarship year.

It is...and I was more referring to back in teh early days...wrestling did well but that was a very different set of circumstances back in the 70s and 80s (Im sure some of the older FFers could give some stories). As Jon astutely noted, this is a non-scholarship team right now and struggles like this (and scores like last night) dont really surprise me at this point. Now if we are getting pasted like this in 5-6 years THEN we have a problem

the ladies had their first home game tonight losing to Anne Arundel Community College 17-7. AACC is a junior college program that won the NJCAA national championship in 2007 and are undefeated this year at 5-0. there was a nice crowd ,and the girls are improving. womens lacrosse is way different than men's so it takes a bit to understand the rules, but its an exciting sport so come out march 26 as the ladies will have their final home game against central connecticut at 3pm.
