I wouldnt be surprised if it had to do with the fact that the courts I think were covered with this white stuff...I think its called snow...we got a lot of it the last few weeks...

Oh, we heard about the snow and saw the videos of all the snow sculptures. I guess we were thinking that it was no longer around.
How far is Longwood from Liberty?
I hope the teams do well.
Thanks for the earlier reply.

ATrain could give you a more exact idea but I think its about 45 minutes or so from our LU down 460

Longwood University is located in Farmville, VA, about an hour's drive east of Liberty & Lynchburg (or maybe 45 minutes the way ole BJ drives).

The Town of Farmville itself is about 45 minutes from Liberty, with Longwood University being in its center so you're looking at an hour drive. As for the reason why it was moved, there could be many. First and foremost being the snow, Lynchburg is further north and at a higher elevation than Farmville, and Liberty mountain also blocks some of the warmer air that tends to come in off the Atlantic Ocean whereas there are no mountains blocking Farmville from said air, so the likelihood of the Lancers' courts being covered is far less.
Secondly, this is a men's and women's match, and we currently only have six finished courts but Longwood has nine, five of which are lighted. More courts are being built on Liberty mountain from what I understand. It may also be a shorter drive for Campbell. It is fortunate that there is a very good friendship between the two coaching staffs, and I would not be surprised if (after all 12 courts are finished at Liberty) Longwood occasionally played some of their matches on our campus.
