Game 16 (Men) @ High Point

the guys lose a heartbreaker 2-1 on the road wednesday night. LU sits 5th in the league with one game left saturday but could finish 3rd with a win as they would own the tiebreaker against winthrop if the big south is logical. here is the wrap from libertyflames.com

The two ties have hurt us. If you go by wins, then splitting the ties is better than keeping them.

medic, its all based on points. 3 points for a win and one point for a tie. we have 11 points, winthrop has 14 points and is done with conference play. if we beat asheville i believe we secure third place. correct me if im wrong anyone.

Sounds right to me...if I remember right, the soccer tiebreaker starts with # of wins, then head-to-head, but WU and LU will have the same # of wins (if LU beats Asheville), so it will go to head-to-head and that's how LU will get the 3 seed...
