Never thought we'd say that did we?

Congrats to all the girls. Talk about a major turnaround.

Sounds like a Rocco-like turn around for the 2nd year coach. Congrats to the team.

the ladies tied Presby 0-0 to win. it looks like winthrop in the first round thursday at 2pm, and with a win we would play the winner of VMI/Coastal friday at 4:30. congrats to coach and the ladies on the big turnaround.

Let's hope they get back in the mid season form. Looks like they are not playing well right now. Need to play a full 90 minutes and to much individual play from a couple of players. If not they will have an early tournament departure.

Socrad, you got it partly right. But, the individual play has existed for most of the season. Winthrop eliminated the girls two years ago and this year lost in the last seconds of double overtime. Except for the last 30 minutes of the Presbyterian game there was very little urgency exhibited by the team. Were it not for a pk save and another big stop in the 80th minute Presbyterian would have earned their first conference win of the season. How embarrassing would that have been? This team has been blessed with a capital "B" to finish first and only lost one game.
The girls can succeed and go to the big show, but they need to to play smart and with urgency. Coach Jess needs to light a fire under some of these girls or put those in who can perform. Stats show some of these players have coasted out there nearly all year. Why has she not dealt with this? Complacency is the enemy of excellence. The individual talent is there compared to the rest of the Big South. But the tournament champion will belong to the team who can consistently perform at a high level for 3 consecutive games.
Congrats girls!!! But now you need to forget the previous 18 games and focus on the next 3 one game at a time.
