This Tourny could get interesting with a few more injuries adding up. You wont see me cry if we dont win a game before conference...I still think we'll be ready to hammer the conference again this year

I think by now everyone on here has faith in our vball program so I dont have to tell everyone not to stress like years in the past. Right now the injury bug has bit. Bacon is out, Chelaine was prob going to be out because of her back but she toughed it out, Boggs is out...you have a few walk on's playing big roles right now....just get healthy for the BSC and we'll be fine...I could careless if we go winless before BSC

We jumped out early on Toledo in set 1. We were up 8-1 or something like that and were just blowing them away, then we just let them back in and started having trouble passing and they came back and beat us. Second set, I think we had more errors than kills -- at least that's what it seemed like. Third set, we had them on the ropes and just couldn't finish. Chelaine did not seem to be slowed down by the injury, but we did miss Karyl. No disrespect for Hannah, she played pretty well, but we could have used Karyl's experience on the floor.

hmm... id say given the injuries, worrying about the W isn't a big deal. what does worry me is that we had them on the ropes in Sets 1 and 3 and didn't finish. I don't think that's an injury thing.
i was talking to one of my buddies today briefly and mentioned the injuries and he was like, well, they should be undefeated right now but couldnt finish some teams they should have. i shrugged it off and was like, eh, no big deal... maybe just getting used to each other. reading this...hmm... hope its a short term problem that goes away asap...

Also look at the records of those that beat us. UVa should be towards the top of the ACC...Toledo is underfeated as well as others that will do well this year...they didnt set up a cupcake preconference schedule

FTFY
But yeah, this is going to be a tough tournament to begin with to pick up any wins, and now with the injuries its even tougher. Our girls have had trouble closing matches, but its a slightly younger team this year than last year, especially with the injuries. I have a feeling that by the time Big South play starts, our girls will be clicking along just fine.

No, HMO, you're right. And I'm sure that was to benefit the team both pre-BSC and NCAA tourny to find quality performances against good teams. While it's good that some girls that might not get as much playing time are having to step up now against some excellent teams, I wish we could get this not closing teams out bug fixed...

I'm sorry I meant VT. VT has been very impressed with the talent level at LU and after spring ball said they would take our starting 5 right now and have them start there.

LU just knocked off Tenn Tech in a nailbiter 3-2. After getting smoked in the 4th game we come back from a 13-11 deficit to win 16-14. Maybe this game can turn things around with our injury situation and all that has affected the teams play the last week.

Good job Lady Flames. Good to see a spark of fight and determination to close out a close match. Lets hope they keep it up. 4-4 on the year now.

Louisville couldn't close out Toledo either. They lost in 5 to Toledo today. The competition in this tournament has been really tough. The Flames gave a great effort at this tournament. We gave Louisville all they could ask for tonight, and they are a very impressive team. Huge across the front line and very active. Great blockers. I believe we are in great shape for the Big South. Some of the younger players had a chance to really grow in this tournament. Hannah had 6 blocks against TTech. Cooper played great defense and put up some great serves. Becka Warren was tough from the service line. LT and Claire got some good play time, too.
If any of you are concerned about the team's ability to finish out a tough match, TTech showed we have the will to do it. They are much better than their record shows. Our girls represented LU extremely well this weekend.
Kallie and Nicki made the All-Tournament team.

I feel much better knowing Louisville couldn't close out Toledo either. Sounds like we are in great shape even with all of our injuries. Congrats to Nicki and Kallie! Being able to hang with Louisville i think will help us out come tournament selection time.
Let's see how we do down in NC with Appy, Duke and WF. If we can get a solid win (or 2) over some tough ACC teams, hopefully that will earn us something other than @ Nebraska come NCAA's...lol

1. Congratulations to the LU volleyball team - you played with a lot of heart!
2. Good job coaches - you put together an excellent game plan (with so many injuries) against VERY good and big teams. Well done!
3. Thanks Vadim for calling us during each set to give us scores and high-lights (only one match had Game Tracker). We owe you big-time!
Pray for the coaches, team, parents, and fans as they travel back to Liberty... it's a long drive.
Pray for the girls that are injured.
Go Liberty!!!
