I heard that the band has new uniforms this year. Anyone know what they look like? I also heard that they are selling pillows made out of the old band uniforms for $25 a piece.

I got to see a sample last semester...theyre gonna look real nice. I dont have a pic of them as of yet but maybe I can snag one at the home opener before the game. the olf uniform jackets are being turned into souvenir pillows and if you want one of those email Dr Kerr and he can give you all the info about how to do that.

Are they teal? Or perhaps JMU purple this year?

Haha...actually no they are navy blue and white with red accents, but they look nothing like the uniforms we had. the band will also be using black gloves this year instead of white like in previous years

BTW, they made pillows out of the old uniforms and selling them to the current band members
If I knew how to upload pictures here I would show you what they look like. [/img]

I dont know about the whole pillows thing. Like when I see those uniforms and on the hot days of august and september, I think of alot of sweating. Taking what people have sweat into for the last however many years those uniforms were used, and making them into pillows, doesnt seem to exciting to me.
Maybe the football team can take their old cubs and shoulder pads and make them into cups and plates

YEah man, nothing like sweat from private parts and the arm pits touching your face.

Yes, regardless of how many times its cleaned, it still doesn't change the fact that you'll be putting your face where a person's arm pits and private parts sweat all over though...

Well obviously people looked past that (otherwise they wouldn;t have so many people wanting them) oh and as a side note its just the uniform jackets that is being done to. I dont know what is happening to the pants.
Anyway as I type this the percussion is practicing and that reminds me that not only is it band season again but only a month til the football home opener!

I don't know why anyone would ever buy one of those pillows. I think it sounds absolutely ridiculous!

That's probably for the best.

Agreed. Just the jackets is a little more reasonable. Pillows made from clothing that touched someone's lower regions is kinda nasty.

I'll assume that you could be joking anyway CHL but my guess is the sentimental value. I know a lot of the members from last years band got them because they were the last one to wear the uniforms. I know many of the band alumni were emailed about it as well.

Do the new uniforms include the white hats like the Cavaliers that I saw the drumline wearing today?

I dont believe so. Once I can get so shot of the uniforms (for main players, associate drum majors and head drum major) I can give you a better description

I saw the band members' new T-shirts today: they were actually RED and had a cool slogan. Something like, "Red Hot and Cool Jazz."

Well waht do you guys think of the new uniforms? (The performance was solid...not at NCCU's level but really we're two completely different style bands).
