Sam Voted BSC Male Athlete of the Year

Liberty redshirt sophomore distance standout Sam Chelanga and Lady Flames senior women’s basketball player Megan Frazee have been named the Big South Conference Male and Female Student-Athletes of the Year for the 2008-09 season by the league’s athletic directors, senior woman administrators and sports information directors.

Nice honor, but I can't say I'm at all surprised. It is essentially picking him to win the cross country championship, and with Rupp now a pro, if Sam is healthy I would think anyone else winning that title would be an upset.
