I am assuming that the football team will be working out in here in August since the Op's center weight room probably won't be ready by then. Nice to see an effort being made to improve upon what they already have instead of just the new stuff.

I didn't know until now that the Hancock weightroom was being renovated. Nice work. We need to get the whipper snapper out on that OPS center.

Progress on the OP's center has been slow the last couple weeks but there is some progress. Need to pick it up a bit. Could be a last minute change in plans or something.

I'd rather see them get it done RIGHT, than the usual LU rush job at the wire and have stuff FUBAR'd all over the place.

well other than a small plumbing problem, TRBC was done very well in a fast time period by the same contractor, but usually you do not see the defects till a year after.

I thought they brought a second contractor in on TRBC to make sure all the work was done by July 2. They were pretty far behind at one point, according to the paper.

Coleman-Glass you are correct, they where about a month behind

they had many different subs for TRBC. coleman-galss did help finish, but kodiak was the lead contractor. the original window company could not do the job in time so appomattox glass came in and finished up. typical stuff in the construction biz.

Now all they need to go is get the grass off the walls. Makes it look like garbage with it still in.

Have to include Hancock as a stop on my official tour this fall. Assuming LIBERTINE makes good on his promise to be my personal escort (in a non-BROKEBACK kinda way)
Weight Room Resurfacing Complete; Williams Stadium Renovations Continue
July 19, 2006
Lynchburg, Va.
On July 18, the second of Liberty’s four major summer time athletic facility upgrades was completed as the Hancock Athletic Center weight room floor was finished. Images of the finished product are displayed to the right just after the weight equipment was brought back into the weight room.
On June 20, the second phase of facilities upgrades to Liberty University’s Williams Stadium started as the Astroturf that the Flames have played on for several years started to be torn up to prepare for the installation of Liberty’s new playing surf.
Before the start of the Flames’ football preseason training camp, which opens on August 2, the newest version of FieldTurf will be installed at Williams Stadium, giving Liberty a state-of-the-art playing surface for the 2006 season.
FieldTurf has already established itself as the turf of choice in the National Football League and in NCAA major college football. Twenty-two of the NFL’s 32 teams currently use FieldTurf at their stadiums and/or their practice facilities, including Ford Field in Detriot the site of Super Bowl XL this past January.
FieldTurf is currently in use in more than 25 NCAA Division 1-A football stadiums including Nebraska, Michigan, Wisconsin, Oregon, Washington, Kansas State, Boston College and Missouri.
