Nebraska

I believed we got a little of a raw deal in being seeded against Nebraska. Alabama A&M has a losing record and drew the 13 seed St. Louis. We took a game from Cal las year and they were a Final Four team. Surely we should get more respect than A A&M. Our RPI is 109 and theirs is way down in the 200s.
Nicki told us she predicted it would be Nebraska, and she is excited about playing them. I just wish we would get to play them in the second round instead of the first.

Anti-Liberty bias. Why should it be reserved just for football. Hope the girls can pull the shocker!
I agree with Vadim

There are several teams with worse records, lower RPI and from weaker conferences that got higher then a 16 seed. The only thing that makes sense is that the tournament selection committee is trying to make some of the first round matches competitive. After all it still is to some degree about selling tickets and advertisments.
They know that Liberty will at least make it an interesting first round match to watch!!
They don't know we could actually win this thing

Ticket sales

Nebraska would sell out the house if they played Little Sisters of the Poor. They sell out their season in fifteen minutes. The tickets to the NCAA first round were sold out in 14 minute. I know, because I tried to get on their website to buy them when they went on sale. It took 14 minutes to get to the ordering section because the servers were full. Once I got through, no tickets were available. If they wanted to improve the chances for selling more tickets, they would have had us play closer to home against a 13-16 overall seed.
I can't see any rhyme or reason for the way they seeded the teams other than the top 16.
It's cold!!!!

We arrived in Omaha tonight with the temp being 15 degrees at 8:00 pm. Quite a chilly reception. The guy at the rental car counter had a Nebraska hat on, so I had to show him my Liberty shirt. He said they take vball pretty seriously over here. The guy who got our car for us is an Iowa native and he said he will pull for LU.
LU volleyball preview: Corbin led Flames’ rise to prominence

Nice article about Kallie Corbin and the LU volleyball team in today's Lynchburg paper:
By Chris Lang

The recruiting letters came in sporadically. Kallie Corbin would open the envelope, see a note from Liberty volleyball coach Shane Pinder and put it aside. At the time, she wasn’t quite sure what a Liberty University was, not surprising considering she lived in Beaverton, Ore.
But as an enterprising fan of women’s sports, Corbin found herself watching the 2005 NCAA basketball tournament and watched with interest when Liberty ousted both Penn State and DePaul from the field of 64. The star of that team, Katie Feenstra, famously uttered the words, “Why not Liberty?” and Corbin’s interest was piqued.
“I thought, what’s holding me back from checking into this school?” Corbin said.
