No Track thread?

Interesting that there is a seperate forum for Lacrosse, but none for Track. Don't get me wrong, those guys with the sticks are tough, but are we forgetting that the track teams have more Big South championships than all of the other sports at LU combined? I am aware that T&F doesn't bring in the big bucks at the school, but it deserves more respect than to be banished to the "other sports" category with the debate team!

I understand the sentiment- not to speak for SLY, but I think it came down to space consideration and overall athstetics of the board.
And the same argument could passionately be made for the golf team, as they went to NCAA regionals this year on an at-large bid: VERY rare in LU sports.
Its not as though T/F is abandoned over here- both Tennis teams and the golf team have a loyal following and generate good coverage! We're proud of those guys (non-gender specific).

When decisions were made about the forums there were determinations made based on the volume of discussion we had experienced on the old board. Lacrosse and hockey both were getting much more attention than track or golf. If we get enough discussion of T&F than I would glad find a way to create its own forum. Until then, this board should be able to handle the conversation.

ie: get all the T/F and C/C fans to boost the volume on here and he'll give 'em their own thread!

MORE VOLUME

well, here comes more volume that you requested. I think that T&F and XC do deserve more respect! We (runners) would be happy to have a category for both of the aformentioned sports. If you have been watching LU 90 seconds over the past few years T&FXC have received quite a lot of coverage. Not to mention the amount of All-Americans the Tolsma Legacy has brought forth...come on give us our own thread!

No disrespect intended my friend. You guys should have your own link considering the accomplishments of your group for the past 20 plus years. However in general we are happy our olympic sports do well (extremely well) but it doesn't generate the same passion as Hoops and football. That is just the realities of American fan participation. Keep up the good work though. One would argue that you guys may be the best athletes on campus. Certainly the best conditioned.

glad to have you aboard RHR. Post away!
I'm sure there will be a lot of success to cover this year with the McDougals hitting their stride (pun intended) and LU continuing to pull in talent year after year
