We played awful
VCU has a good team though, Coach talked about how it was going to be a real battle but I really thought we'd come out better. Keep in mind this team has been on the road for 4 weeks now and just got through one of the toughest road stints LU volleyball has ever seen...and walked away 11 and 4 and COULD very easily be 13 and 2. Either way this is one of the best starts LU has had ever and this is why VCU was scheduled where they were...b/c they knew it would be a battle and also they needed a buffer game after being on the road for so long and having to face a conference team at home in just a few days.
LU's bread and butter has been defense the past year and one of the leaders in the nation...tonight our defense struggled and thats something we are not used to seeing.
Rest assured PA, we have a good squad and are still the team to beat in the big south...other schools are printing up shirts (like we did) saying BEAT LIBERTY b/c we've raised the bar to new heights last year.

Basically we need to clean up our game...we had many service and attack errors tonight, and we simply should not be giving those free points to the other team.

defense was bad like HMO said. we didn't do a good job with passing the ball for most of the match.

There were several moments when we had great blocking and digging going on...but at times we looked confused on defense.

I was there. With that being said, I have nothing to add because I know nothing about volleyball except that it's fun to watch.

So what did that add to the conversation of volleyball to say that you were there?
Just wondering

At least it had to do with volleyball.
Your post didn't have to do with volleyball at all!

thanks- and before I enrage the families on here- I'm not knocking the team. I don't really follow V-ball but have been impressed with their incredible success over the last couple years; which made this loss jump out at me.

I was just saying I went to the match and that if I knew the game better, I'd add something, but I don't so I won't. How is that off topic?

And people say Matshark and I are joined at the hip

I know, I know
Now that thats out of my system:
Ladies, lets play nice...no need to get into a cat fight over whether or not anyone is adding anything to the conversation.

I would have stood up for anyone making that post. Heck, I usually disagree with Jon on a lot of things, and get ticked off by some things he says on here. I think I would have even stood up for shuk in that instance.

Never thought I'd see the day when Super J admitted he didn't know everything that there was to know about the sport he was watching

There's a lot I don't know much about. Hockey, volleyball, track, and tennis being the main ones we have here.
I've played football, baseball, basketball, and soccer as well as helped coach or worked with three of those four so I have a good knowledge of them. I'm a fan of all sports (except women's basketball, I can't stand it) and try to learn as much as I can about them.
