Is the road going to go through that or something? Why are they tearing down the Tennis facility?

For someone in the know you seem to be kinda on the outside lately. That's going to be parking.

They are also beginning to bulldoze the cross country trail on the other side of the back entrance, across from the baseball field, I guess to extend the perimeter road.

The new “tennis courts and facility” will be where the old intramural field was, next to the softball field.

Those chairs are sweet.

yeah, i didn't realize it either. I knew this was coming, I just thought they were holding off on it for another year or two..but then again with the new bookstore going in they need to get some new parking put in to replace that

ps...i am so happy to hear they are actually putting new seats in the Vines....I am curious to see how the general admission seats will actual look....

i am just happy to see improvement all around campus...its nice to see

You would think for the new red seats they would want to protect them and maybe they could rope them off. Of course we know that won’t happen. Maybe if LUconn would proclaim it would be done.

I missed this thread. I hate this forum. Those chairs are pretty sweet.

Tennis courts with a modest fieldhouse may possibly be located on the old intramural fields beyond the softball outfield fence.

From what I've heard, the intramural fields will be eventually replace with part of the mall.

wouldn't it stand to reason that a fieldhouse of SOME sort would have to go up in pretty close proximity to the courts? Otherwise, you're hiking from the office/meeting rooms and back all the time.

maybe something like v-ball got, over on Campus East (?) That's up and running, no?

My understanding is that the hole in DeMoss is for them to get equipment up there.

Does anyone else find it ironic that the pic of the new bookstore location has a Do Not Enter sign? ha,ha

With the new tennis courts going where they are it got me to thinking (and some of my friends outside of the awesome folks on this board): Where will the softball field go? Also, the band practices over on the old intramural fields by the softball field (put down some concrete posts for the scaffolding too). When are they going to break ground on the new tennis courts and how would it affect those two groups?
