His future boss is also wildly successful beyond any measure comparatively. And he's the President. And he just b**** slapped the Bush's Clintons and Obama machines. So ..... he can say what he wants. Ha

Was also told the overall athletics budget will be scaled back to a more appropriate FCS level next year. We have been operating as an FBS school and there are inefficiencies throughout the department given our current status.
i don't know how i feel about this. They were already average with a big budget. I can't imagine them with a smaller budget.

Resources don't equal success as has just been shown. Plus, I'm sure the budget will be on the high end of FCS

Example of cutting back: marketing has four full time staffers along with GAs and interns and they're not producing much more than we did 5-7 years ago with one staffer and GAs/interns.

If overall athletics budgets are cut back significantly, yes. One of the things that attracted him to come back is the step up in financial commitment.
Jr. is getting pretty full of himself. He tweeted the other night, "the Pope has no credibility....." before his wife and daughter convinced him to take it down.
I wasn't a fan of his endorsement of Trump because it's too tied to LU and I don't think it's a net positive for the school. I'm sure there are a number of Catholics in the online program. I think he's a smaller fish in a bigger pond than he may think.
I don't like JR endorsement of Trump because it damaged the credibility of
The comment about the Pope is ignorant and reminds me of something my parents said when they actually met The Pope 'You know, he's really smart '

Jeff was the face of athletics to me. Coaches came and went but the change that happened was that lu sports mattered under jeff. The gameday experience and ifrastructure changed. I couldnt have cared less about lu sports until my senior year 07. Results werent what we would like to be but i still dont think you can frame that all on jb.

So we should assume that Jerry has realized that all his efforts have led to nothing and now he can get rid of the AD and the aspirations of the FBS, and lower the athletics budget, too? Maybe, since losing out on that dream, he has decided to take the political path and handily dissociate himself from the failure that has been a long and expensive ten year experiment.

+1. I'm astonished that they're thinking of cutting the budget. can't win big, make yourself less attracted. logic unless they're giving up on athletics.
Barber did one thing stupid. giving Gill and Layer an extension based off one good year (i shouldn't even say that).
