Endurance runner Dean Karnazes has perched himself atop a building in Times Square on a treadmill for 24 hours. He is attempting to break the world record for distance run in 24 hours on a treadmill which stands at 153.76 miles. He just passed the 100 mile mark with about 8 hours to go. The suspense is killing me.
Here's a link to the webcam if you are interested. It is worth a look-see. Go to camera two if you want a better look. http://www.accelerade.com/endurance-run/
On a side note, our own Josh Cox holds the world record for the treadmill marathon, which he set at the Boston Marathon race expo in 2004. His time was 2:31:04. That's a 5:46 mile pace for 26.2 miles.
