I know its been discussed but I'm not wading thru 75000 posts to find it.

What is the current seating capacity at the soccer field/track facility?

And whatever happened to the theory that they were going to out seats into the back side of the 'Bill? (frankly, I think WE made that one up 8) )

I think we were all conjecturing in one of the many "Facilities Upgrades" threads we had started on here

HMO/GMTM would know for sure

We need some facility upgrades all around for sure....Football has got a lot of attention, but I think everything there is about as good as it is going to get until we expand...its time now to focus on basketball/baseball/soccer/and adding some built-in bleachers at the softball field...I know thats a lot to do...but if we are truly going to be a Grade A athletic department we need to do these things...

I am not talking about huge projects, just little things to add to the venues a little bit

I know that there were over 2,000 for the UNC game earlier in the year....I would have to go back and dig up the thread

was reading that thread as well.

that's what roused my interest.

I remember standing at Homecoming- we filled the sidelines from 18 to 18 and the bleachers were full.

(BTW- Wikkipedia doesn't have a seating capacity listed- thats why I was curious if we had an official number)

yeah there were a lot of people for the UNC game...but he said seating, and I can't imagine more then 500 could fit in those temp bleachers they have

Seating is probably around 500 on most games. The UNC game they brought in extra bleachers and a lot of people either brought their own chairs, were sitting on the hill, or were standing up.

the last time i talked to coach alder, he said he had a potential donor that was looking into putting in seats with a capacity of 700-1,000 seats. it would have some padded seats and a small pressbox. i guess that has stalled though.

If that happens, look for a new soccer only stadium.

A lot of standing room, in addition to the bleachers. I'd imagine a "soccer-only" IS in the plans.

You don't have to imagine. It is - on east by the intramural fields.
