nice comeback by our guys:
Flames Come From Behind To Down Bison For Wrestling Victory
January 19, 2007
Lewisburg, Pa.
Bucknell opened up a sizeable lead early on in the match, but the Flames took four of the last five weight classes to rally for a 25-24 victory over the Bison, Friday evening, at Davis Gym.

With the victory, the Flames raise their record to 9-6 on the year and the loss drops Bucknell’s overall record to an even 8-8 on the season.

Homestanding Bucknell started the match-up with back-to-back wins by fall as Andy Rendos downed Chad Porter at 165 pounds (4:47) and Shane Riccio pinned Jonathan Campbell at 174 pounds (2:03).

The Flames got on the scoreboard at 184 pounds as Chris Daggett won a high-scoring 11-8 decision over George Mann; however, the Bison widened its lead to 18-3 as Eric Lapotsky defeated Rory Bosek by fall (1:42) at 197 pounds.

Patrick Walker started the Flames’ comeback as the heavyweight pinned George Hingson (4:23). Christian Smith followed with a 9-4 decision win over Greg Hart at 125 pounds, pulling Liberty within six points, 18-12.

David Marble pushed Bucknell’s lead to 12 points, 24-12, after picking up a win by medical default over Sam Walters at 133 pounds. But the six points would prove to be the final ones for the Bison as Liberty closed out the match with three-straight wins to pick up the victory.

Tim Harner started the Flames’ run to victory with a win by fall over Zach Galligan (6:16) at 141 pounds, followed by Aaron Kelley’s 12-4 major decision win over Jack Conroy at 149 pounds.

And with the match hanging in the balance, Shaun Smith gave Liberty’s its first lead at the time when it mattered most as the 157-pounder defeated Brantley Hooks in a close 4-3 decision, giving the Flames the victory.

Liberty returns to action tomorrow in a tri-match against Messiah and Wilkes with Wilkes hosting the event which starts at 11 a.m.
