There crows at the games would get bigger every week when I was doing camera for FH, the students are obviously noticing how good they are. After a somewhat rough start the ladies had an AMAZING season.

Great job Lady Flames...I'll be interested to see where they land in the tourney. They have wins over 2 ranked ACC teams in addition to beating a top 10 team in Stanford. Rough start with some close losses, but they didn't give up on the season.

If I was part of the program I would feal a bit disrespected today. They beat three of the teams in the field and they are playing in a play in game with the prize of playing the #1 seed if they win. These girls deserbe better after the season they had. Yes they had a few bad games but I wonder if they would have won two more games on the year if they would have gotten any more respect. I doubt it!

It was disrespectful, but it is also an opportunity to host an NCAA tournament game and I feel we can beat Richmond. If we had defeated ODU and/or UVA, we'd likely still be in this position unfortunately...

I get the disrespect aspect of not being seeded outright but a play-in game does give LU Field Hockey a chance to add some gravitas to their young program:

1. They get to host an NCAA tournament game. (It would be nice if it were televised live as well)
2. Jodi Murphy gets to do a reverse-Danny Rocco and host the successful program that she came from.
3. A win would further build the players' confidence to take on the #1 Seed in a hostile environment at their home field. If LU knocks off UNC at their place after being shut out by them in Lynchburg then they would become a favorite to win the whole thing. That would help raise the program's profile to a whole other level.

Awesome win! Just imagine if they beat the #1 team in the land on their home field!

I hope FlamesNation will be represented in Chapel Hill.

I had a lot of fun doing camera for some of their games this year. Attendance went up with each game and by the end it was a really great atmosphere at those games. We picked a good one in Coach Murphy.

Considering we played the first part of the schedule without our best player (Natalie Barr) and the second half of the year with a less than perfectly healthy Natalie Barr. We should be improved next year.

I like her testimony version...God led her to LU.

Yep, she's a keeper.
Not that I don't believe it, but haven't we heard that line before from other coaches who have now gone on?

That's her testimony. God led her from Richmond to LU. The key point is not what she wanted but what she understood that God wanted for her.

Life isn't static, especially for those who seek to walk with God. Active believers are usually on the move as they seek to do God's will because God is leading and guiding and teaching them. Change is the norm.

There's nothing negative about a coach moving on in obedience to God's leadership.

Why would any player like Dickens play for HCJC?
