CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Liberty’s Mary Alice Pike has been named the Big South Conference Choice Hotels Player of the Week in volleyball, while Emily Stockman from Winthrop was tabbed New Balance Freshman of the Week, the League announced today.

Pike, junior from Durham, N.C., posted 44 kills, a .362 hitting percentage and averaged 3.67 kills per game to lead the Lady Flames to a 2-1 record on the week at the Army of One Tournament. She got her week started with 15 kills and three aces against Navy on Sept. 15. The next day, Pike posted 11 kills and a .579 hitting percentage against The Citadel and wrapped the tournament up with 18 kills and one ace at Army. Defensively, she came up with 19 digs and notched five blocks for Liberty in the three-match span.

Finally...the player of the week isn't from Winthrop.
