The two-time defending Big South champion Liberty volleyball team has received its fourth commitment for the 2009 season. Loren Thomas, a 6-3 middle blocker from the Orlando area, has signed a national letter of intent for the 2009-10 academic year.
It would be tough to say LU has ever had someone come in with more upside. Already jump touching higher than anything I've ever heard of. She has the potential to take LU to new heights if she works like I think she will. She is very raw and it will take time...but in the end I think she will be worth it.
FYI not sure if the write up says this but her sis play's basketball at Duke

If you add the 6'3" plus the amount of athleticism then she's in a league of her own as far as previous VB players that I'm aware of

Loren is a great pick up for coach... even better that he is red-shirting her. She is relatively new to the sport of volleyball, but plays for a solid club team in the Orlando area...
Giving her a year to develop, get used to fast paced volleyball will no doubt give her great potential going into her 2nd year.
No doubt having taller girls on the court will help too!!!
