I don't know how I just found this thread, but this really makes no sense. If it's the student section that caused it then you'd think we could control them a little better of move them more behind our own bench. I can't imagine this being TV initiated since the teams and coaches will now have their backs to the cameras. Really seems like an odd move.
No one said it was the student section that caused this. If you would read the things I posted that came directly from the athletic department you would see this is a move to facilitate the student section because of a Big South mandate. The Big South says you have to give x amount of seats behind the opposing team's bench for their fans. With the benches like they were last year, that's directly in the middle of the student section. That's not fair to the students nor the fans of the other team. So instead they moved the benches to the other side where there aren't as many people and there won't be any problems. It allows the students to be closer to the floor and not have to worry about Jimmy's grandma getting mad that we were trying to make him miss his shots.

out of curiousity...does anybody know if they have started putting in the new chairs? just curious...with school starting soon its going to be harder to do that
