Okay, some of you were obviously converted while watching Josh's amazing victory in Terre Haute a few months ago. For those of you who were working or missed it for some reason, there is still time to catch Josh's next national title live on the internet. Rumor has it that it is FREE. I know the 5k is on Friday night, but let's be real here, anyone who visits this place on a regular basis has nothing better to do on Friday anyway.

I did some digging. Right now, it shows that you have to pay for the coverage, but word on the street (trackshark.com) has it that it will be free to watch starting at 7:00 tomorrow night. Guess we will miss the Shot, but at least we will be able to see McD go for title #2...and #3. I'll be here as long as Mrs. '01 doesn't go into labor before then...

Thanks for the heads up. Josh looks particularly promising in the 5k.

Live feed is free and working great. Tightly bunched pack throught the first 2000 meters. Josh is running second.

Josh takes the lead and is pushing the pace with 13 laps to go!

After leading most of the way, Josh was passed with less than 400 meters to go and ended up 5th.

While I am sure Josh is disappointed, I am having a hard time getting upset over a top 5 finish in the nation.

Josh finishes 6th in the 3000. Again he led going into the last couple of laps, but couldn't hold off the strong kickers.

I have to believe his very limited amount of competition on the boards this year hurt him in these races. I'm looking for him to peak for the outdoor nationals.

Meh. I wouldn't worry about him. The focus for the year wasn't indoors. Or even NCAA outdoors. The big prize is the Olympic Trials. I doubt he did very much specific work for this season at all. Since he DROPPED his mileage to 116 the week of XC Nats, he probably kept things even higher this week. Keep going Josh. I hear Bejing is nice in August. (well, maybe not, but you get the idea.)

He's already a national champion. No one can ever take that away from him.

I'm sure Bejing is nice in August. Unless your'e a monk, from tibet, taiwan, a christian, against communism, or any of the many groups the chinese persecute, etc...

But I do hope he makes the Ol Trials and makes the Team. That would be awesome.

Not surprised he dropped his mileage the week of XC Nats. That helps the body recover from being constantly beaten down and then peak for big competitions.

I do the same thing for my fights on the week of. Lifting sessions are lighter and shorter and training sessions have no contact and are cardio only while very closely simulating the length of the fight. Come the end of the week, the body is just jumping to get a good hard workout in (i.e. the fight).
