KINNIKINNICK - A familiar, unpleasant sound rang in Kendra Dalton's ears as she landed. The pain that followed confirmed it. In just two years time she had torn her ACL - again. First the right knee, and now, the left.
"I knew it, I knew it. If you hear that pop once you'll know it. Everyone was trying to talk me out of it but inside I knew it was my ACL," said Dalton, a Zane Trace senior.

"I had instant tears when she came to me that it had happened again," said former head and now assistant ZT coach Kate DePugh. "She is the one person you don't want this to happen to because she works so hard. She was our team leader emotionally, physically, everything. The team centered around her and it was heartbreaking. I started thinking about her scholarship."
DePugh wasn't the only one concerned. Dalton and her father contacted Liberty, who reassured them her scholarship was safe.
"The day after my surgery the (Liberty) coached called me again and he said it's going to be OK. You are going to get your money and we'll coordinate with a therapist when you get here, so everything started to work out OK," said Dalton.
