wondering how much the new volleyball facility over on Campus East helped the team (their own place to practice, office space, etc)

really- a big moral boost for the program as well, I'm sure

kudos to the AD for supporting this team as well

AMEN right here!!

YES- we must have a bigger fan core... I mean, c'mon, Nebraska gets roughly 5,000 per contest and Hawaii sells out their arena I think at least 10,000 from reading reports on it.... Let's try to get an average of 2,500- not bad for a "mid-major" like we could be... And tailgating, YES, we need to think of big stuff... I'll try to figure out ways to the promotion of the LU Volleyball into my Master's program in Communication Studies next summer & year; it'd be neat! :)

I don't think even Winthrop had average attendance over 1,000 during their 5-year run...averaging 2,500 would simply be AMAZING

Let me first say it's great having you on board now JJ...it's good to get some new blood in here! I have a few answers for a few of your posts that I figured I'd share...and some opinions of my own
jjbeaty wrote: _Quickie sets from the back row (Scripko could probably pull a few of these), no one expects a quickie set from the back row and she does rather well with them as noted by the tournament play with California.
This will come with time...although if you compare our back row sets compared to the other BS schools you'll see that nobody even comes close to the attempts we have...now if you compare us to a team like Cal...that's different, but as of right now their focus is on BS and hopefully within the next 3-4 years you'll see that slowly transition (heck you even saw that change this year with the Tourny we played after the BS tourny)
jjbeaty wrote: _***Get the ladies into the swimming pool to get those shoulders strong***- Cutura from Cal is a swimmer and it was evident by her ability to pound down those kills she gave us in the tourney game
They actually do this already...your correct with it helping your shoulders although I give the credit to Cutra's ability to being 6'5" and extremely athletic
jjbeaty wrote:_Get some more leg workouts going for verticals, almost like basketball workout for men so their calves will become stronger and gain maybe 1/2-3/4 of an inch over the next year-- it all helps at the net!!

This is a focus for the off season...keep in mind that those that we think of as needing that great vertical are 18 - 19 year old legs right now....I know Bacon is now focused in getting to the point she saw Pressey (who is sporting a 38 inch vertical). In fact that has been challenged to her all year...well before they even knew they were going to play against her....right now Bacon is at 30-33...she'll be there by the time she's a SR like Pressey...they both have VERY similar bodies

as for Nu'uhiwa...they can keep her...they need a chance next year and the only way I see that is for her being on that side of the net trying to handle the BOMBS Nik, McC, Bacon and our incoming swinger that's a FROSH  8)

Like I said...great having you on board...stick around and stay awhile!

That's Presbyterian College (we pounded them in football and won both matches in volleyball *they won one game on us at their place ending our sweep streak*) The guys on their board are trying to trumpet how good their schedule is and the guys on here pretty much have hammered them for it.
