What a great match to watch. The Lady Flames played like they really wanted it tonight. They made a really good team look below average. It was a great total team effort. Everybody had a point where they came through when it was needed. Congrats to the Flames.

Very impressive showing by the ladies. I think there were more than 822 people there. I would say closer to 2000.

was my first volleyball match, and it was very impressive. it seemed the ladies started off each game a little slow, and then really got rolling and never looked back.

My guess is there were 822 paid in attendance but definitely 2000 present. I just walked right in. It was a great atmosphere.

Boy does this talk about attendance give me flashbacks!

The ladies played really well tonite...I sat with BigSmooth and he kept saying how bad HP looked...and it's the truth...they didnt play their best game although I think it has a lot to do with us posing our will on them....I mean this was a 19-7 ball club...that's pretty good, and they're #3 in BSC

Another great sight was seeing Jerry Jr at the game REALLY enjoying himself...and then he saw the team gather to pray and quickly ran out there to be a part of it...that was pretty cool....he couldnt believe how young some of these girls are, and how great the future looks and I told him about some of the recruits...good times ahead!

I saw Chelaine and she asked me what she hit for the night...I told her .346 and told her we want .400 tomorrow 8) I quickly corrected myself and said .300 is just fine I'll take that every night!

It was great to see some Va, Sly and others...hopefully some others will introduce themselves to me!

This was a great night for LU

Liberty’s Streak Continues, High Point’s Run Comes to an End

October 26, 2007
Lynchburg, Va.

Playing before its largest home crowd since Nov. 17, 2001 (822 fans), Friday evening at the Vines Center, the Liberty Lady Flames volleyball team defeated Big South rival High Point, 3-0 (30-19, 30-15, 30-24), stopping the Panthers’ winning streak at 10 matches.

The sweep makes the Lady Flames the first Big South team to post nine-consecutive 3-0 sweeps since Radford did so in 2001. It also marks the squad’s sixth-straight win at the Vines Center.

Liberty improves to 19-7 overall and 8-1 in the Big South conference, setting up a Saturday evening showdown with Winthrop. The Eagles, who handed the Lady Flames their only conference setback and have won 63-straight matches against conference foes, top the Big South at 8-0.
