After some talking to a couple of different people, I dont think, (if this is to happen) that Gardner Webb or Charlston Southern would join the UAC. They seem to be under the impression that both are thinking of going the route of Presbyterian and dropping scholarship football and joining the Pionee...

So if what your saying is accurate were basically back in the big south again hah. So why even announce it yet if they cant be more specific. I mean they are getting crushed nationally with anybody that actually cares Not really... Liberty will be a full member of a conference with UNA, Bellarmine,...

Just got confirmation that the ASUN will be take over the Big South. Liberty, UNA and Bellarmine wanted nothing to do with the "merger". Gumbart, in an attempt to give the 3 a solution, is making the CCSA a multi sport FCS conference. Apparently, Liberty and Bellarmine will be the only non football ...

There have been talk that the Easten schools from C-USA are tired of traveling West. Some of the Sun Belt is in the same boat. Another aspect is that the Sun Belt and C-USA are basically the same footprint. Why have two conferences, at the same level, overall have the same footprint? By joining with...

Out of the ASUN 20 member conference... only UNA, KSU and possibly Stetson will be affiliated with the new UAC . Because they play FCS football. The UAC will be a football only conference at the FCS level similar to the MVFC. It will not have anything to do with Liberty or anyone else in the ASUN. A...

It's not as bad as it appears, its actually way better... After talking to UNA officials, voicing concerns of being handed off to a lesser conference, I was met by surprise when told the gameplan. No, Liberty, UNA and Bellarmine are not getting pushed out. The core 7, or ASUN 7 is just a formality i...

Ball coach is glad someone else feels the way he does about ODU, VCU, UNCC and Appy State. Those 4 schools have peaked in their athletic endeavors, and have zero room for growth to another level. From A to Z, LU has a better athletic program than all 4 of those combined. Most are a "one horse show"...

Wont really effect Liberty, but have heard that Ted Gumbart (ASUN commissioner) has been trying to work out a deal with possibly the Sun Belt to give a home to ASUN football schools that want to play FBS. Much like the ASUN/Big South deal. And I say Sun Belt, not because they have been mentioned, b...

I can't see AAC taking VCU. They are a non football school. LU should never even acknowledge that A-10 exists. A-10 is mostly a northern conference. LU has more of a footprint in the southern sector of country. We would have NOTHING to gain by joining A-10. AAC would be good in that they are bigg s...

Truthfully UConn should've stayed w/ the Big East BBall schools and gone indy in football. Now lets just say the AAC does take VCU - do we get an invite to the A10 based on our extremely recent bball success? I can't see AAC taking VCU. They are a non football school. I disagree about that, especially going forward over the next few years. If the core of the ASun stays on track (core is everyone not NJIT or Bellarmine) and keeps improving competition and facilities, it will be a very strong conference. And if I read right, the ASun now earns more money than the ...

No one is leaving the OVC for the Asun. that would be a step down in almost every sport with the exception being baseball and Maybe soccer. I wonder if this can open up a door for another Kentucky school? If NJIT gets a spot in another conference closer to them, I wonder if EKU would consider a move to the ASun? Or Morehead State? Truth be known, I am having memories of "when Longwood joined Big South Conference". Not being around the Big South, what do you mean by that? This was a deal where Longwood brought nothing to the BSC. Oh sure, they have a good softball team, but nothing else. It weakened BSC as a conference in my ...

Ballcoach, this is not rocket science. The ASUN is a much stronger softball conference than the Big South is. You should know that better than anyone else on this board. Lipscomb is ranked 40th in the country compared to Longwood ranked 74th. LU was ranked 52nd. https://www.ncaa.com/rankings/softba...

I would love to see 2 or 3, but I am afraid only 1. Big 10 and ACC will gobble up lot of the at large spots It may happen but I can't see N Alabama winning tournament. I'm not saying North Alabama will win the tournament, I'm saying if they win, who will get the auto bid. And I think we can get 2 in.
